Could anybody tell me how to assess the performance of a packed tower which is used in isotopic separation. this tower acts just like absorber, i.e, the isotope transfer is from gas phase to liquid phase. what i know is the cocentration of the isotope in the liquid feed to the tower and concentration of the liquid outlet of the tower. Liquid flow to the tower, tower pressure and temperature, dp across the tower are known, what i am not sure of is gas flow as FT is not reliable becuase of number of reasons. In these conditions, how to assess the performance of this tower? If any further inputs are required, I will try to give.
Thanks in advance.

hi alankar
thanks. we are using structured packing supplied by Sulzer. type of packing is M250Y whose surface area is 250Sq.M per Cu.M of packing and void fraction is 0.988. If u want further details, i will inform u.
