How is the conversion done? I need to convert 1000 Nm3/hr of air to Nm3/hr of nitrogen. What is the conversion factor? Is it dependent on the molecular weight?

Nm3/h of Nitrogen = Nm3/h of Air*Sqroot (Mol wt of Air / Mol wt of Nitrogen)

The air composition in volumen is 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen (approximately), then you have 790 Nm3/h.

I believe OP is asking for replacing Air with N2 for blanketing since this is "Tank Blanketing and Venting" sub-forum and not mole or volume percent of Nitrogen in Air.

You should have learned in high school chemistry that any mole of ideal gas occupies the same volume at normal conditions.
