Dear viewers,

We are in the process of buying a fluidised bed dryer for our product drying.

We require a detailed literature regarding the rules of thumb to be followed for operating a fluidised bed dryer also we need to take up lot of trials in that dryer.

Kindly suggest any related websites containing (freely available)literature/resources are welcome.

Thanks in advance

Ramnathsharma,

It isn't free, but I'd recommend picking up a copy of Kunii & Levenspiel's "Fluidization Engineering". I'm not aware of any simplified rules of thumb, but this reference has most of the info you'll need to calculate mode of fluidization, drying regime, heat transfer, etc. I've used it for years.

Hope this helps.

John
