Hello everybody!

It's my first time when I deal with a negative difference in elevation between the furthest equipment and KO Drum.

Can you please give me some guidance relating my issue with KO Drum elevation?

The furthest equipment elevation is +340m, the vent header has a length of 120m, and 6" diameter.

The KO Drum elevation is +349m, and it's diameter is 1.5m.

In order to fulfill the API 521 requirement (slope 1:500), the gas exit from the furthest equipment needs to be at 12m height from the ground. How can I solve this?

I was thinking to an intermediate KO Drum, but the vent header length is not too big, or at an underground KO Drum, but the depth will be high. Do I miss something? How can I solve this issue?

Thank you!

It's the pipe that matters, not the equipment.

Hi ProcessEngRo,

It has been a month since your last post, how did you solve? I think its a great practice to post your solution in order for people in the forum may learn from your experience.

I think you can route the pipe from equipment at +340m upwards then slope it down. Is it coming out from a PSV? If so, can you elevate the PSV without sacrificing the 3% rule?
