Scenario :We have a LNG regasification facility and we use Shell and Tube Heat exchanger , a high pressure LNG pump pumps liquid to Heat Exchanger and gas is send to Piped network.

Problem Facing : recently from past few months , few ( 2 out of 14 ) LNG Heat exchangers inlet control valve creating whistling sound which can e heard from 10 m distance which reduces if flow gets reduces and increases when flow increases.

We want to troubleshoot this problem but couldn't do much .

HP pump discharge pressure : 97 barg

heat exchanger outlet (Natural gas) pressure : 84 barg

Control valve : Globe max allowable pressure 130barg , packing type V-ring; spring type

Actuator type : spring and diaphragm

Imax valve opening limits to 70% as it gives max flow at that %

You should talk to the valve supplier.
