HI

i am using the PROII simulator and I want to simulate a hot oil loop. As i created the components by filling all the available properties provided by the supplier (i chose one Hot oil, just to begin), I can't run one stream. Unfortunately,  ProII wants vapor properties and i have no vapor properties. Indeed, the principle of hot oil is that even at high temperature, no vapor is formed (in theory i know).

What should i do to force PROII to not requesting vapor properties.

Thanks for your response

Give the software what it wants. Provide component vapor properties. If no vapor forms, they will not be used.

If you can't make something up, copy the properties from a high molecular weight hydrocarbon (perhaps C20) that also stays liquid.

Simulation is a tool to get the answer you need so it is okay to use cheats where they do not matter to the answer.

hi

I have created a hypothetical components and i add the temperature dependants properties. Unfortunately, PROII doesn't want to overwrite his extrapolation with my input (heat capacity and density are false if i run the simulation of 1 Stream!!).

How is that possible ??

User-defined pure components can be difficult create because of all the properties that are required. Creating user-defined pure components from scratch is usually unnecessary. I found that a lot of times it is easier to choose existing library components and modify them than to try to build one from scratch. In your case, you should probably be using petroleum components (pseudocomponents) for your hot oil. Simsci tech support should be able to assist with this.
