Dear all expert

My junior he have question to ask me that if centrifugal did not have enough head, can we modify by routing discharge centrifugal pump to suction of gear pump. (Centrifugal pump series with gear pump) in order to gear pump boot up pressure?

I think it OK and I recommend him to check only NPSH of gear pump.

What do all expert think? Do you think centrifugal pump can series with gear pump?

Please recommend us.

Best regard

Sapao,

I think it's possible, but the gear pump will dictate the working point of the centrifugal pump...of course NPSH of each pump should be checked to be in allowable range...
