Hi everyone,

 

I have the following problem: I need to calculate the pressure in a vessel which is receiving a pipeline with 20 bar of steam and has a leaving pipeline at atmospheric pressure. Could you tell me how can I calculate it in Aspen Plus.

maybe the student's forum is more appropriate for these questions,
are you interested to steady-state or dynamic simulation ?
For the first case you can define (and solve) a simple model , probably there are simple examples available on the web, by the way, I do that with Excel or similar tools + thermodynamic library for all calc's (this to suggest a possible alternative),
for the second case you can run a simulator or (again) solve with simple procedures as direct integration, there are several threads discussing these methods at Cheresources...
