I have doubt on casing blowdown in oil and gas well. In my understanding casing blowdown is done when the well is closed for a long time , then we may need to depressurize the pressure trapped in the casing. But my doubt is what about the pressure trapped in the drill pipe? how to blowdown the trapped pressure in the drill pipe? If we need to blowdown the casing , then we should need to blowdown the drill pipe also right?  Because drill pipe is the one which produces oil and gas. 

 

Can anyone in this forum explain in detail please.
