Dear All,

 

 

I would like to know that what  will be the problems during operation of gear type pump, when it is used for low viscosity fluid, the pump initially was selected for high viscosity fluid SAE 50. now  if I use same pump for Low viscosity thermic fluid, then what are some technical issue have to face during operation.

 

 

kindly share your knowledge.

Lower flow rates and less developed pressure.  Check manufacturer's pump curves.

 

Less lubricity; more wear and tear.
