Dear Team,

For our greenfield inorganic chemical project, I am initiating a conceptual study with our EPC contractor for conceptual design and selection of back pressure steam turbines for producing power and also supplying process steam.

I am contemplating to add below topics in the scope of the study, any important items to be added is most welcome.

1. Heat to Power Ratio across the plant

2. Load duration curve

3. Cogeneration System Efficiency calculation (Boiler + Turbine + Generator)

4. Peak load and part load power generation, efficiency

5. Performance guarantee figures

6. levelized cost of electricity

Any guidance on how to simulate various cases for boiler and steam turbine in HYSYS will be helpful.

I am new to posting here so if I missed anything kindly let me know.

Thanks & Regards

Vikas

Your list doesn't look like items for a conceptual study. What is the basis of your contractors work? Do you need any large steam turbine drivers? Maybe you can tell us more about your project. For example do you plan to generate electricity for the plant? What is the steam requirement. What is the electricity requirement? Your first step should be to generate the basic data for the study and have a look as to whether the study is even warranted. Inorganic chemical plant doesn't convey any information.
