I am in a project in which I am developing three models (maybe more): Process model in Aspen HYSYS, heat transfer model in HTRI, and hydraulics in an in-house software.
The project has an existing vaporizer that will have a level control valve at its inlet piping. We knew the flow, inlet temperature, and the desired outlook temperature of the tube side fluid from the beginning. The exchanger geometric parameters were anticipated to take time to be available. So, we developed the HYSYS model. After the exchanger's geometry has been available, we developed a rating model in HTRI. The overdesign factor result has been too big (around 200%).
Now,I am in a position to do the hydraulics and establish the process data for the control valve.
My question is that is the flow rate value which we got from
HYSYS and used in HTRI realistic to be used in the hydraulics of the shell side fluid?
I feel there is a missing step and it might a simulation case in HTRI (not rating).
