Hi there,


I would like to do a conceptual (high level) feasibility calculation for an adsorber column.  The only information i have available is some equilibrium adsorption measurements (isotherm data).  I would like to use this data to do a conceptual sizing calculation, but i'm struggling to find any literature reference that describes this calculation.  All literature calculations involve breakthrough curves, which i understand is the correct and definitive way, but due to the level of this work that information is not available.  Does anyone perhaps have a literature reference that describes the sizing of an adsorber column making use of equilibrium (isotherm) data?


Further information. I do not have enough datapoints to fit one of the known isotherms (langmuir etc.).  I can estimate the size of the equilibrium zone required based on my feed composition, but i'm looking for a literature reference that gives guidelines for the sizing of the mass transfer zone and what is an appropriate safety factor (unloaded adsorbent) to include.
