API 12J calls for using k factor as 0.12 to 0.24 for vessels with length as 5 feet.

GPSA calls for de-rating of thek factor based on pressure.

Pressure, psig De-rating For Mesh Demisters At

Elevated Pressure

Atmospheric 1.00

150 0.90

300 0.85

600 0.80

1,150 0.75

If I am using API 12J for k factor do I need to de-rate the k factor? For e.g. if my vessel height is 5 feet and is operating at 1150 psig. Do I just use a k factor between 0.12 and 0.24? or do I use 0.24 and de-rate it as per GPSA?

If I am using GPSA for sizing do i use 0.35 as the max k value provided by GPSA and use 0.75 as de-rating factor??

So, what service is the vessel for? Are you sizing a real vessel?  If it's for real, you need to talk to the demister vendor.

Vessel is a discharge scrubber in natural gas service.

How is 12J only for horizontal sep. ..it provides guidelines for vertical sep.
