hello

I have a project on steam methane reforming and  I'm looking for a shortcut design method for hydrogen pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit .

I have found many kinetics and differential equations but they all seem confusing specially because experimental data are needed and I can't seem to find something similar to my process .

therefore I would like to know if there is a simpler or a more direct way for estimating the design parameters (e.g. weight of catalyst, height of column,no.columns needed )

Thanks.

Hi ,

You may save time by contacting people dealing with the technology .

An example from Internet : https://www.engineer...en-purification

Good luck

A PSA unit is something one would buy, not something one designs by himself.

Compare it for example with a compressor: one does not try to determine the required number of wheels, the wheel diameter, the number of vanes, vane angle, et cetera. One simply specifies what the compressor needs to do and send that to a vendor.

Same with PSA unit.

UOP is also a well known supplier of PSA units: https://www.uop.com/...gen-separation/

and there are several others (Linde, Air Products, ....).
