Hi all,

 

I have an issue with a high level switch in a vessel that activates periodically when we charge powder into the vessel.

 

It is a vibrating tuning fork design.

 

Is there any other model types that could be used that might be more suitable at not falsely activating when powder charging?

 

The vessel already has a radar probe installed and this high level is additional protection against overfill.

Hi ,

My experience with fork on powder is similar to yours . How big is your silo?

By chance can you install load cells or a second radar ? more expensive but works.

We operate with pressure pads to monitor/control the volume from a process perspective. The level switch is for protection against overfill.

I think we are going to attempt to install a spray-ball adjacent to the switch with the hope that this prevents a build-up of powder accumulating.

The shade idea may be a possible alternative if this proves unsucessful.

Or maybe, put some compressed air nozzles aimed at at the fork area to blow the dust off of it every now and then.
