Hi Everyone

My name Jesus , i am designing and simulating a 2 phase horizontal separator in hysys
for sulfuric acid (liquid phase) and air ( vapor phase), but i don't known
how internals parts design as inlet diverter, anti vortice baffle, mesh and
how and with  wich program could simulating it.
Can you help me about this, I thank you very much
I leave the fact sheet of this case (consider only case 1)

Process engineers typically do not simulate 'internals parts design as inlet diverter, anti vortice baffle, mesh'. These are selected by engineering judgment based on experience, trusted vendor representation, intuition, or working go-by examples. Computational fluid dynamics might be used to develop a simulation of these internals, but there is little reason to go to that effort since a 'great' design of internals does not work measurably better than an 'adequate' design of internals. In other words, any working inlet diverter is probably better than no inlet diverter and any working vortex baffle is probably better than no vortex baffle if these are needed. Review existing examples and decide what looks good, does not cost too much, and is suitable for maintenance in the service. Once you have a design in mind, have your choice checked by a knowledgeable colleague if you are still uncertain. There is lots of good info available such as the articles attached by Breizh. I find the GPSA Engineering Data Book a very valuable separator design resource.

Hi,

To add to my previous answer :  https://checalc.com/calc/horizsep.html

note: GPSA is definitely a very good resource.

Good luck

Thank so much for your help Breizh and Pilesar, only one thing , what program could use to simulate this internals parts?

thank for your answers.
