Hi All,

I'm simulating Toluene Methanol Alkylation reaction in DWSIM. For this, which reactor should I choose from the palette of reactors?

Also, can someone please share the stoichiometric reaction for the same.

Hi  Which reactor you use depends on the amount of information you have on the reaction.  You may want to start with the

Gibbs reactor. It can compute products based on 'free energy of reactant and products.

that should get you in the ball park.  Next if you can get an

equilibrium constant try the 'Equilibrium Reactor.  Finally as a last resort try the 'Conversion Reactor'.  You tell if what conversion you want to achieve.  Remember most of these reactor models work best with gas phase reactions.
