Hi, I need help on Indirect Steam Generator with Solar water (Thermal) heat.

Can we generate the steam in heat exchanger with solar water heat. I think Yes & i also know that we can use only sensible heat.

Need to know how to size the heat exchanger for this application & if any one can give the detail calculator which will be really helpful.

Eg. Solar water heat at 180 Deg C & flow rate is 45000 m3/hr. Need to generate Steam in Indirect generator (or heat Exchanger) at the max point. Can we able to consider DT @ 5, 10, 15, 20 Deg C. Which one will be best.

Hi ,

For those interested with the subject :

A few docs about HX to support your work :

https://www.enggcycl...ch-temperature/

http://www.engineeri...mal/sizing.html

https://checalc.com/.../ShortExch.html

note : I believe the energy content of your stream  is quite low therefore the return on investment is not granted ( many HX, many pumps , storage for pressurized water outlet of HXs, auto valve for steam flashing , etc).

Good luck
