Hi to all,

Could anyone explain how the ratio controller works?

I need to prepare the solution (Water+Polymer) for a constant viscosity. How can i fix the ratio control to maintain constant viscosity?

Hi,

I don't think this is possible ! You need a very good mixing device and a inline viscometer at the outlet of the mixer .

What is the form for the polymer : liquid , solid (pellets , flakes, powder ) ?

Is it a continuous or batch process ?

You should consider to keep one stream constant (water) and add more less polymer .

My view

Hi,

Supposing the polymer in liquid state, at first you should experimentally find the ratios of water/polymer to meet the specified viscosity at fixed temperatures; then using flow control valves at incoming water/polymer lines to mixing vessel triggered by a ratio controller has been set at found temperature corresponding ratio you will have a solution with mentioned specified viscosity.

A more detailed process description might help.

Has it been successful before? If not, I’d do a test at the static mixer vendor.

Looks strange to me. You don't provide enough information to even guess.

Hi ,

Did you check with the polymer's suppliers ? They know their products and can give you some advices .They may also provide equipment for the dosage in line as part of their contract to sell chemicals .

This is based on my experience with water treatment companies .

Good luck
