Hi everyone, 

 

How can I simulate an upset during a dynamic simulation in Aspe HYSYS? 

I'll explain myself in a better way. I am doing a dynamic simulation and one of my streams is controlled with a flow controller which maintains it at set point. After 1 hour I would like to double the flow of this stream for a short time ( 1 second or 1 minute) to simulate an upset and see the flow controller response. 

I cannot do that by setting and event in the event scheduler and use the specify variable action because Hysys tells me it is not possible to modify the stream flow. 

Are there other ways to to that?

How about having a dummy stream similar to the old one with valve. When you want upset, just open control valve so flow will be double.
