introduce the process:

 

This process uses a rectification method to separate butane from the reactor mixture in the de-butanizer. Rectification is the partial vaporization of a liquid mixture, and the difference in relative volatility of each component is used to realize the separation of the mixture through mass transfer between liquid and gas phase. In this device, the mixture in the de-propanizer reactor is partially vaporized. Because the boiling point of butane is low, that is, its volatility is high, butane is easy to vaporize from the liquid phase, and then the vaporized vapor is condensed to obtain The butane composition is higher than the raw material mixture, after multiple vaporization and condensation, the purpose of separating butane in the mixture can be achieved.

 

    The raw material is the kettle liquid of the 67.8℃ depropanizer (mainly C4, C5, C6, C7, etc.), which is fed from the 16th plate of the debutanizer T101 (a total of 32 plates in the entire tower), and the feed volume is determined by the flow rate The controller FIC101 controls. The temperature of the sensitive plate is controlled by the regulator TIC101 by adjusting the flow rate of the reboiler heating steam to control the temperature of the sensitive plate in the stripping section, thereby controlling the separation quality of butane.

 

    Part of the bottom liquid of the debutanization tower (mainly the fraction above C5) is produced as a product, and part of it is partially vaporized by the reboiler E101 as steam rising from the bottom of the tower. The liquid level of the tower reactor and the output of the tower reactor are controlled by a cascade controller composed of LIC101 and FIC102. The reboiler is heated by low-pressure steam.

 

    The rising vapor (C4 fraction and a small amount of C5 fraction) at the top of the tower is completely condensed into liquid by the top condenser E102, and the condensate flows into the reflux tank F101 by the head difference. The tower top pressure PIC102 adopts split-range control: under normal pressure fluctuations, the pressure is adjusted by adjusting the cooling water volume of the tower top condenser. When the pressure is too high, the pressure alarm system sends an alarm signal, and PIC102 adjusts the tower top to the reflux tank. The exhaust volume is used to control the pressure at the top of the tower to adjust the gas phase discharge. The operating pressure is 4.25atm (gauge pressure), and the high-pressure controller PIC101 will adjust the gas phase discharge volume of the reflux tank to control the pressure stability in the tower. The condenser uses cooling water as the heating medium. The liquid level of the reflux tank is maintained constant by a cascade control loop composed of liquid level controllers LIC103 and FIC103 to adjust the output of the tower top product. Part of the liquid in the reflux tank is sent to the next process as the top product, and the other part of the liquid is sent back to the top of the tower by the reflux pump P101A/B as a reflux, and the return flow is controlled by the flow controller FIC104.

From the picture you supplied with your question, it looks like the process is not adequately condensing the butane overhead. I would expect that the combined liquid products should be much closer to the amount of material in the feed.

I think you are asking for a review of the language of your paper. I will offer a few comments:

1) You should use sentences ended by a period (.) to express thoughts. For example, the last sentence in the first paragraph beginning 'Because the boiling point of butane is low' is difficult for me to understand.

2) You use the term 'plate' frequently. Are you referring to theoretical stages or actual trays? The meaning may be clearer in your region of the world.

3) Where you use the term 'sensitive plate' I would use 'control tray.'

4) Some of your terms like 'vaporized vapor' and 'The controller FIC101 controls' have extra wording that does not add to the meaning. I would write 'vapor' and 'FIC101 controls the flow.'

5) Where you use 'fraction above C5' I would say 'C5 and heavier.'

6) In the third paragraph, you refer to 'parts' such as 'part of the bottom liquid.' Why not describe a quantity such as '47% of the feed leaves the column as a bottom liquid product.'

7) You write 'part of it is partially vaporized by the reboiler E101 as steam rising from the bottom of the tower.' I would say 'part of it is vaporized.' The term 'steam' is used only for water vapor and not for hydrocarbon vapor.
