I am doing a report of the cooling system efficiency in an industry. The system that I am viewing is fermentation with a batch process inside a vessel, and that process is being cooled by a continuous water cooler inside a pipe that goes inside the vessel.

I know the temperature of the fermentation throughout the process, the reaction etc. and I know the temperature of the cooling water before cooling the system but I dont know the water temperature after cooling the system, and thats where my problem lies, and I have no means of checking that temperature.

So the question is can I estimate the temperature of the cooling water output (after cooling the system) ? What equation could I use ?

I have the Kern's book "process heat transfer", but I dont know what chapter should I read to solve this problem, and I dont have that much time in my hand until the deadline, so I appreciate it so much even if you only pint point what chapter should I read to solve this.

Sorry for the lame drawing. But the process basically like that, and the pipe for the cooling water is a steel pipe

Look at Chapter 18, Batch and Unsteady State Processes.  Kern has solved a lot of differential equations for you there!
