If you have a manufacturer in mind, contact them and they would likely be glad to help you tailor specifications. Talking to one of their sales people by telephone might be a good first step.

What/how do you want the refractory to perform? What does your boss or the plant manager want? Installed and operational by a certain date? How long should the refractory last? What are the most important parameters of the refractory to your team? Is there a temperature limit of the materials protected by the refractory that can be specified? Make a list and pick the ones most important.

Hi,

Talk to contractor / engineering company familiar to this kind of work .  Pay extremely attention to the start up to ensure you don't damage the refractory .

Based on my experience with vertical kilns to produce CaO .

Good luck
