There are always risks in using  software or procedures that are not vetted. I recommend that no one should use them for real work without thorough validation. That applies to my work, too. This applies equally well to spreadsheets and procedures from sources like GPSA. And some textbooks from well know professors. Spreadsheets are notoriously risky. But there are some reliable sources. Most risky are spreadsheets that rely on cell formulas. And/or "poke & hope" solution technique.
