Hello Dear Chemical Engineering community,

We are currently designing the simulink control for a distillation column, and attached below is what we have done so far.

We implemented feedback control. The problems is that we generated 4 PID controllers (two for the reflux and two for the reboiler) yet are required to only use 2 PIDs, so my question is how do we 'fuse' two PID controllers into one.

Any other comments or suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thank you

I am not expert at what you are doing (and am not sure I even understand what you are doing), but consider using a weighted sum of the changes calculated by both controllers.

Hi,

Not sure I understand your query . I added documents about Distillation towers and control . You may submit a simple PFD/PID for us to visualize your problem with sensors ,controllers and links between them .

My view

It is not possible to understand what are you doing without a P&ID   or the control loop drawing
