Hello

I have a pipeline that is 45 km long and 28 inches. The pressure to conserve the pipeline is 35 psi and the discharge pressure is between 15 to 100 psi the temperature is 150 F

Could you please help me to calculate the amount of Nitrogen required to remove all elements in the pipeline and replace it with Nitrogen gas?

Hi,

Engineering is about hard work , not formulae to apply .

Anyway you can consider the new document attached  or calculate  the volume of the pipe * density of N2 @ (T,P) * 3 to ensure the pipe is free of contaminant .

Note : In any case you must perform sniff test to confirm .

Good luck

Breizh
