Hi Members,
I am currently working in a new project where I have to store 40-45 small resin storage tanks ( 2m3 to 20 m3 working volume) in a tankfarm area. Resins are flammable in nature. These resins are compatible with each other. At present the exact area of tankfarm is not known as the plot plan is yet to be finalized.
Putting 40-45 small tanks will take a lot of space as we need to follow certain standards to have gaps between two tanks. I will like to learn from experts in this group what can be different options to save land space of tankfarm to accommodate 40-45 small resin tanks.
I can think of three options;
1. Putting 6/7 resins in one rectangular tanks with partitions. However, the worry is if there will be leakage in any partition wall, it will create a big issue.
2. Keeping a mezzanine floor and to keep the smaller tanks at higher elevation. However, accessibility and operability will not be very comfortable.
3. Putting 2m3 or 3 m3 quantity liquids in barrels instead of tanks. However, these resins are highly viscous (500-2000 CP) and sticky in nature. Losses will be huge in barrels.
I appreciate your advices on this issue.
