Greetings gentlemen

I have done calculation to determine the wave propagation and them estimated pressure change due to sudden trip
dH=+ a dV / g and - a dV / g
My question is, when the pump trip do we add shut-off pressure to the estimated Pressure rise to get the maximum pressure inside the pipeline and subtract both to get minimum pressure? I have considered the negative value of downsurge pressure immediately at the pump’s discharge nozzle am i getting this correctly?

thanks

There are more aspects to reverse flow (surge) during the pump trip that needs to be considered and there are s/w available to do so

Search 'Surge Analysis of Pump Trip' on youtube
