Hi all, for a fairly large scale (600-900 metric tons per day) nitrogen generation unit of high purity(where oxygen may be a by-product or just vented out and its purity is not a concern), can somebody provide a reference for the technlogy and costs used? I couldnt find much in web, but maybe I missed. Need some insights onwhat kind of technology(single-column?) used and what is the delivery pressure possible for nitrogen made in these units. Need N2 at pressures of close to 15-20bara, are these units capable of doing that? The high purity nitrogen has less than  ppm levels oxygen usually

Hi,

You should consult Linde , Air liquid and others to answer your query.

A search on internet should help .

There are fairly large variants of Large scale N2 generators licensed by ASU licensors , SPECTRA by Linde dedicated for large amount of Ultra Pure N2 required for Semiconductor sector.

Single Column High Pressure N2 generators operate at around 7-8 bar(g) , beyond this pressure , N2 compressors can be used to boost the pressure , Double Column ASUs , where ppmv level O2 in N2 at pressure as high as 70 barg) are successfully operating in the industry.

Based on your requirements , Chemical Process Simulators can be used to optimize and tailor the process per requirement.

Hi Bodhi, any cost references for single column units?

also for these units where n2 is the main product, will the byproduct be like 95% oxygen with rest being n2 and argon?
