Hello

for fire protection I want to inert a warehouse with about 250000 m3 volume. The warehouse has 24 openings/doors for trucks (load & unload). it is expected that I got throughput of 41300 m3/h through the doors. The civil constructor is telling me that the leakage rate of the walls is about 0.02 1/h. 

 

With these numbers I would like to calculate the amount of nitrogen I need to keep the oxygen level at 14%. However I can't find any rule or way to do it. Can anybody help me and explain how to do it for a warehouse?

Hi,

You should consult your fire brigade and/or the insurance broker in charge of your warehouse .

Never heard about using N2 for this application (huge volume) and personal safety issue ( very low O2 content) .
