Hello Folks,

I just started working on the water treatment unit in our facility, so have very limited knowledge.

Somebody proposed to recover the EDI electrode flush and concentrate by recycling them back to the feed water tank before RO units. I have doubt in it because the ions removed will be recycled and processed again. I asked this questions and he said that ion concentration in the flush and bleed is lower than the feed water, so the ion concentration in the mixed stream is lower and better than the feed water alone.

Do you agree with his statement? If so, why the flush and bleed were not recycled in initial design.

Thanks,

Leo

I would study a bit before accepting this as truth. And, what is an EDI electrode?

Hi Bobby,

Be honest, I am trying to figure it out myself. For those vendor packages, there is not much information available

Hi Breizh,

Good information. I still need to get more details before I am completely convinced for the recovery project. I searched the internet and found some diagrams. Most of them don't recycle the EDI rejects.

I would ask the equipment provider first.
