Dear Sir,

I wanted to know how Wet Gas Compressor works and Why It is called as Wet Gas Compressor ?

I wanted to know for both Refinery FCCU AND DCU ?

IS it two stage machine always ? How much is the fouling potential in this ?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

wet gas includes a liquid fraction which (depending from amount) can generate problems with std. centrifugal compressors (you should discuss these applications with manufacturers), there are many applications for centrifugal compressors, screws etc.
(as general rule) the performance of a centrifugal compressor under wet gas conditions decreases,  several method have been proposed  for evaluating performance

also, wet gas compression stages are not easy to simulate due to difficult to extrapolate the usual parameters to wet gas conditions, I solve these problems (wet gas compression stages) as polytropic stages (the same as for dry gas compression stages) with the unit operation available in Prode Properties (you need a tool able to solve a polytropic stage including phase equilibria).

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your advice.

What kind of liquid components it has basically ?

Why wet gas is fed to compressor ? IS WGC same as Ethylene CGC ?

Regards,

as said wet gas includes a liquid fraction,

in some applications a liquid fraction is injected at compressor's inlet, there are several benefits, for a short introduction to these applications see

https://www.klmtechg...-Compressor.pdf

for the other questions I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer,

an expert's advice is required.
