Hi everyone!

I am a freshly graduated chemical engineer, and I started working a month ago.

I have come accross a problem, that would be important to solve. In the facility we produce 4-ITCBN, which requires thiophosgene as an ingidient. For one charge we use nearly 44 kg of it, but how things stands now, my co-workers load it in the reactor from 1,25 kg bottles. This is extremly inefficient, harmful and a pain to do. We plan on doing the loading with a pump, but the thiophosgene is very agressive, and attacks the pump as well.

Is there a better way to do it? How should we do it to minimize exposure and corrosin?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This material like phosgene is very hazardous . You should consult senior engineer/manager within your organization .  This project should be handled by experienced engineer.

What is the problem with the actual process ?

my 2 cents
