If we have to storage large quantities of IBCs that contain hazardous chemicals (toxic + flammable), would you suggest to store them in an open buidling?

Hi,

Consult your fire brigade and EPA about regulation in your country . Probably good also to talk to your insurance broker in charge of your site.

BTW you did not give much information about the products and quantity ( large is too vague).

note :Plastic IBCs or metal ? New or recycled IBCs ?   IBC are prone to leak .

You need to be able to collect spillage in case (leak of product or spent water).

My experience with flammable product stored in IBCs is a closed warehouse equipped with fire water system  ( Thailand, Australia ,China).

Good luck

Breizh do you see any implication having an open warehouse for flammable chemicals. I am talking for a storage area of 1400m2.

Hi,

As I said , Consult the fire brigade and EPA to get a proper answer , it depends of your location.

How do you intend to prevent fire to spread everywhere ? same for the vapor of toxic chemicals ?

Good luck
