Hi All,

We are trying to measure hydrocarbon layer in multiple tanks across our side (wastewater treatment plant for oil refinery). I am looking for a simple device that will allow area operator to measure hydrocarbon layer (average tank will have a water, then a little sediment and finally oil layer). What we would like to know is how thick is the oil layer or oil + sediment.

I am aware of guided radar level sensors, and we will be installing them in the near future, but for the time being I am looking for some alternatives.

Can you please recommend some solutions? Or share your experience in measuring oil layers ?

I appreciate your help
