Hi,

I went through the forum threads, and don't think I saw this specific topic. When sizing piping for liquid systems, there are many rules of thumb (average velocity, pressure drop, etc). There are also plenty of lookup tables for common conditions.

Does such a thing exist for an industrial vacuum system (ie house vac)? Art's excel file seems good, but really only specifies the target and max operating velocity. Is it really as simple as that?

Thanks

If by 'house vac' you mean a central vacuum for household dirt, then see design criteria here:

You'll have to be more specific about the situation you're trying to analyze.
