We Have Replaced Charcoal Filter in our Amime Regeneration Unit. What is the commissioning procedure to take this filter on line.

Consider to read the document attached for Amines Unit . 

The fact you mentioned charcoal worried me but this is not a process I'm familiar with ,  it should be activated carbon with a specific granulometry together with a specific area to retain the impurities . 

Others will certainly comment .

We Have Replaced Charcoal Filter in our Amime Regeneration Unit. What is the commissioning procedure to take this filter on line.

After charcoal replacement, wash the bed with steam condensate till fresh water coming out. Ensure  air is removed from the chatcoal filter.  Initially water colour should be black. Do back wash to remove all the impurities that may contain in the charcoal bed. Cofirm fresh water is coming out, disconnect steam condensate and slowly line up charcoal bed with amine solvent.

Why to be washed with Steam Condensate? Any specific reasons

Activated carbon can have a lot of unwanted dust that is removed with the condensate wash. You want all the carbon to stay in the bed during operation. The black water on initial wash indicates the dust that would have traveled to the rest of the system if not removed.

Hi,

Normally Steam condensate is good quality water , it depends on the quality of the steam .

Steam is used for the desorption of AC.
