Hydrocarbon Emulsion Formation

Hi,

In Ethylene Plant, For Oil Water Separator , there is an issue with emulsion formation always.

I wanted to know how pH impacts emulsion formation in these systems.

Generally we maintain 5.5 to 6.5 as pH but higher pH destabilizes emulsion ?
