Hello all,
I have a butane bullet used for some gas blending. There's some points in the year, especially in the winter where we have problems keeping pressure high enough to provide decent suction pressure on a pump that pushes the butane down the line to our blending area. Our NPSHa drops below required and will pose the risk of cavitating our pump. If we could somehow find a way to put a blanket of nitrogen or fuel gas in this bullet we could maintain pressure on demand all year around.
My question is does anyone have experience putting a blanked on a LPG bullet system? haven't really seen anything online regarding this. I'm assuming with a blanket system on an already semi pressurized system, we would need a PVRV to automatically vent excess nitrogen when pressure goes above a set point. But we have butane vapor that's mixed in with that nitrogen and it would probably start becoming a safety concern. Maybe we can send that to flare.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
