Hello everyone,

I would like to know, what is basic startup guideline for the columns in DCS operation.

Each distillation column should have a startup procedure developed by those who understand the process and its hazards. The only basic guide I know is 'follow the established procedure.'

A few documents to start with:

PIDs

Process description (Process book)

SOPs related to these equipment

Safety matrix (interlocks and alarms)

 

Get training with skilled board operators - learning curve.

Startup procedure is part of the training for field and panel operators..

 

 

Are you a process engineer ??  you should develop it.
