hi,

Can anyone tell me about the pressure drop calculation across a "Tee" joint and "Mixer"joint in hysys? also tell me about the use of nozzle parameter in "Tee" joint

Thanks in advance.

There isn't a pressure drop calculation across the tee or mixers.

The mixer has the pressure drop assignment, (equalise all & set outlet to lowest)

This helps simply set pressure accordingly for the resulting stream.

So it not a pressure drop calculation from a hydraulics point of view.

If you want pressure drop estimates for tees etc, then they can be included in the pipe segments.

The nozzles, these are common in all unit operations in Hysys and something i have never used.

I understand that this can allow you to specify relative elevations of the nozzles to the ground and each other.

In dynamic they can be used to provide static head contributions, but not in steady state.

As Fletch mentioned, tee and mixer in HYSYS don't account for pressure drop.

To calculate the pressure drop of tee or wye accurately, Crane TP-410 definitely has the go-to equation.
