Hi, 

When applying the  pressure drop of 3% Pset of PSV for sizing PSV inlet piping size, what is the distance that I have to consider? The example is below.

 

Example:

Case: control valve failure open.

PSV protects the piping of CV downstream that have lower design pressure from upstream portion.

Main line is 50m and PSV line is 10m. When calculating the pressure loss at PSV inlet piping what distance should I consider? 10m or 50+10=60m?
