Hello Gents,
We have been in a debate with one of our clients for a week now about the possibility of using two JT valves in parallel.

They already have two identical JT valves installed but the working philosophy is 1 working and 1 standby. Recently, the plant throughout increased and 1 JT is not sufficient, so we proposed to take the excess on the other spare valve. For the moment drop down the subject of changing the sparing philosophy of the plant and help me out to provide tangible evidence that two working parallel JT is valid configuration. If you have any sources (international, case studies for real plants, vendor papers …etc.),it would be helpful.

I know theoretically speaking that if the valves are identical as well as proper piping are in place, the flow, pressure, and temperature profiles should be the same at the two valves.

I just need proven record to end this discussion with the client once and for all.

Help your fellow colleague here.

Thanks in advance my dear friends.
