Hello to all. In this topic, I am going to discuss the terms and phrases that come to me while reading the heat exchanger design handbook, so that the path will be clear to me. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

What heat exchanger design handbook are you reading? https://www.taylorfr...pan-thulukkanam or another book? Are you a college student or a practicing engineer?

thanks all. first question is about Flow-Induced vibration in heat exchanger. what is FIV and the reason of it in exchangers?

My understanding is that flow induced vibration is the vibration of the tubes as the shell side fluid flows over and through the tube bundle.  It is undesireable and tubes need to be braced at intervals to prevent it.
