Hello,

I have tank farm with 16 equal tanks, each in the individual dike and at distance of 1.5D  from each other or more.

Could somebody advise, where to find requirements in NFPA or API in order to determine the need of cooling by water spray system of adjacent tank? From what distance it shall be provided?

I've read NFPA 15 and 30, but haven't found any.

Maybe the answers you seek are in NFPA 30 paragraph 'Fire Protection for Aboveground Storage Tanks.' This is paragraph 22.8 in my 2021 version of the document. This is not a 'cooling by water spray' paragraph but does address when fire extinguishing systems are required.

Hi,

You should consult your local safety bureau or fire brigade; each country has its own regulation.

Another option is to contact the insurance broker in charge of the facility.

Yes I saw this paragraph, but it's still not clear. In table 22.4.2.1 indicated the calculations for distance between shell-to-shell but it is not explained if it is applied for individual dike area. For my case calculation of distance is equal to 615 meters, which is obviously excessive.
