I'm a chemist and had worked in a pharmaceutical as analyst now I want to learn Aspen Plus and want to go towards raw materials manufacturing.  Is it possible, practically, and what basics should I know before going on towards chemical engineering?

I have known very good chemical engineers with chemistry degrees. Good luck! If you have a particular job or company you are targeting, then find out more info from those who would hire you. The lack of an engineering degree might hinder your hiring chances, but might not limit your advancement too much once you get hired.
