I want to understand why back pressure in ground flare is more than elevated flare. 

please correct me if I am wrong, I think Elevated flares should have more back pressure as the flared gases have to travel through elevated stack there must be some pressure drop to account in back pressure.

I have not concluded or believed on anything yet, I need some insight regarding this topic, 

I am asking if whatever I asked is correct or not, if not then why, this is open ended question..

Let me rephrase it.

Which flare (i.e. Ground flare or Elevated flare) have high back pressure & Why ?

Both options are available depending on system design and reliefs parameters.

 

Which backpressure do you interested in - superimposed or built-up?

I would like to know in general, As I am learning Depressurizing Utility in HYSYS, I just got curious what if I have used Elevated flare instead of Ground flare, the assumed value of back pressure will still holds good or not.. 

And I would really appreciate if you explain only for superimposed only. As I have already stated for Built-up back pressure, elevated have more pressure drop till the flare tip.

Hi guy,

First of all you will have to understand what is an elevated flare and a ground flare and the differences between.

After that you will have to check the regulation in the plant where the flare shall be installed.....

 

The process condition is for design of what "imposed".
