hey guys,

Recently, I started my thesis on CO2 capture process by using hot potassium carbonate. the simulator is HYSYS. I am going to use rate based model. there are a bunch of reactions and as I understood, theses reactions are going to be done in absorber and desorber. when I am opening the absorber in default example of K2CO3 based CO2 capture, I can not find any reaction sets inside it. I am just wondering where and when these reactions were entered to the model?

If you need more info, please just mention it.

thank you all.

Maybe the example does not use reaction kinetics. It could use something simple, like capture X% of C or CO2. Dig into the details of the absorber block. The answer is in there.

You might be using chemical CO2 absorption fluid package in Hysys. It seems those reactions are embedded into this package.
