Good evening to anyone who reads this,
I am a senior in Chemical Engineering who graduates in May 2024 of this year. Currently for my senior design project I am trying to implement reactive distillation in my aspen simulation but do not know where to begin, the goal is to obviously lower capital cost by eliminating some equipment to yield a higher DCFOR. The reaction taking place is Urea Alcoholyis. Methanol and urea are fed to a mixer then a reactor operating at 100C and 7 atm. The intermediates and By products are Methyl Carbonate, ammonia, NMMC, and water. The main product which I am selling is Dimethyl Carbonate. If anyone can either help me implement this or can point me in the right direction with literature, patents, and or even hop on a zoom call to help would be greatly appreciated.
